Welcome to Platera ("App", "we", "us", or "our"). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our mobile application and website.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
- Account information: email address, name (when signing in with Apple)
- Pet information: pet name, species, breed, date of birth, weight, sex, spay/neuter status
- Pet medical information: records of vaccinations, veterinary visits, parasite treatments
- Documents: photos of pet passports, medical certificates, and other pet-related documents
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Device information: device type, operating system, unique device identifier
- Usage information: interactions with the App, screens viewed, actions taken
- Push tokens: used to send notifications about upcoming procedures
- Website data: when visiting our website, we may collect standard web log data (IP address, browser type, pages viewed). Our website currently does not use cookies or third-party trackers
2.3 Subscription and Payment Data
- Subscription data: subscription type, start and end dates, subscription status
- Purchase identifiers: anonymous transaction identifiers provided by Apple/Google
We do not store or have access to your credit card details or payment credentials. All payments are processed directly by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play).
3. Legal Basis for Processing
We process your personal data on the following legal grounds:
- Performance of a contract: processing of account, pet, and subscription data is necessary to provide you with the App's services (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR)
- Consent: push notifications and marketing communications are sent only with your explicit consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You may withdraw your consent at any time in your device or App settings
- Legitimate interest: usage analytics and service improvement (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We use only anonymized data for these purposes
4. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information to:
- Provide App functionality (store pet data, send procedure reminders)
- Manage subscriptions and provide access to premium features
- Improve and optimize the App
- Send push notifications about upcoming events
- Provide technical support
- Analyze App usage (via Amplitude)
5. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on secure Supabase servers (located in the EU/USA). We apply industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including:
- Encryption in transit (TLS/SSL)
- Encryption at rest
- Strict access control policies (Row Level Security)
5.1 Data Retention Periods
- Account and pet data: retained while your account is active. Upon account deletion, all data is permanently deleted within 30 days
- Analytics data: anonymized usage data is retained for up to 24 months
- Subscription data: retained for the duration of the subscription and up to 12 months after expiration to handle potential inquiries
- Backups: may be retained for up to 30 days after data is deleted from the primary database
6. International Data Transfers
Your data may be transferred to and processed in countries outside your country of residence, including the USA and EU countries. We ensure an adequate level of data protection for such transfers through:
- Using service providers that comply with Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission
- Selecting providers certified under applicable data protection frameworks
- Implementing technical safeguards (encryption, access controls)
7. Sharing of Information with Third Parties
We do not sell your personal data. We may share information with the following categories of recipients:
- Supabase (USA/EU) — database and file hosting
- Amplitude (USA) — App usage analytics (anonymized data)
- RevenueCat (USA) — subscription management and purchase processing
- Apple / Google (USA) — to support authentication, push notifications, and payment processing
8. Your Rights
Depending on your location and applicable law, you have the right to:
- Access: request a copy of your data
- Correction: update or correct your data
- Deletion: delete your account and all related data
- Restriction: request restriction of processing of your data
- Portability: export your data in a machine-readable format
- Objection: object to processing based on legitimate interest
- Withdraw consent: withdraw previously given consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing prior to withdrawal
To delete your account, go to Settings → Danger Zone → Delete Account. For all other requests, contact us at help@platera.app.
If you believe your data protection rights have been violated, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority in your country.
9. Children's Privacy
Our App is not intended for children under the age of 16 (or under the minimum age established by your country's legislation). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child, we will promptly delete that information.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the App or by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the App after the changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Policy.
